Bitumen Sprayer Fleet Calibration Completed at Our Workshop Facility
Over the Easter weekend, we took the opportunity to carry out full calibration across our Bitumen Sprayer fleet, reinforcing our commitment to precision, compliance, and quality across every project we deliver.
The work was undertaken at our workshop facility, where our newly installed and commissioned test pit is now fully operational. This investment marks a significant step forward in our ability to carry out accurate, in-house testing and maintenance, ensuring our equipment consistently performs to the highest standards.
Critical Process
Calibration of Bitumen Sprayers is a critical process in highway maintenance and surface treatment works. Ensuring the correct rate of Bitumen application is essential not only for achieving optimal performance but also for meeting strict industry specifications and avoiding material wastage or premature failure.

We would like to extend our thanks to Rory O’Connor at RST Testing for carrying out the calibrations in accordance with BS 1707 – Specification for the method of test for binder sprayers for accuracy of spread of binder. The process included both the Depot Tray Test and Spray Bar Bench Test, providing full verification of spray accuracy across the fleet.
